Motorizada (Motorcycle)

Lisa and I wanted one day to be on our own without any greater plans or care. And Sarit provided us his motorbike.
It didn't take much for them to start suggesting places and saying that by motorcycle, the journey would be too dangerous. We told them we just wanted to feel the wind in our face and ride in the surroundings .. free! X and Lada found something to do and gave up on the adventure.
In my first few meters, I tried my best so Sarit would believed the bike was in good hands.
Lisa agreed to go to the forest park, that was far and our only clue was that it was to the west (I stole X 's compass just in case).
There we went, at 50 Km/h and trying to avoid the potholes.
A great temple was the reason of our first stop. In the middle of a natural park, the monks were gathered to meditate.
After following some sign arrows and ignore the indications (for going against the compass) of a friendly family who were selling in a market ,we stopped to eat.
It was already three o'clock and we still would get lost several times (in some beautiful places as well) due to unclear signs. Fortunately, Lisa always believed, and after about forty kilometers, there we found the place. There were several interest points in the park but our time was short, and so, we decided just to see a waterfall.
After we climb several stairs and go through numerous bamboos and trees with twisted branches (which have the same name of the teacher - Lada), we arrived at this extremely wet spot where the waterfall produces a constant wind.
The way home was already faster (at 80) but having in mind the potholes, the dogs and the life I was carrying behind me. The Thais are very peaceful conductors. I wish that the Portuguese had half of their tranquility.
I was imagining, proud, delivering the motorbike to Sarit, saying: "Look .. not a scratch." But no. Just as happened in the Azores, doing a simple maneuver, I spoiled the party. Already in the Sarit's village, I had the feeling that we had passed the turn for home. I was right, but when U-turning, the curve got wider than the road. There we fell on a small ditch, and the innocent on me, relieving my conscience. The bike was fine and I had a few scratches. Enough for not being able to show Sarit the feat I had imagined.

Dia de competição.. mas pouco ( Competition day.. but not that much)

Amendoins!  / Peanuts!

... a torrar. / ... roasting.

Some students were going to participate in a competition between nineteen schools that was going to take place at another school. Thus, there were no lessons, so Lisa and I went to the event with the other teachers. Again, many eyes on us.
We were taken to the pavilion where the dance competition was going to happen.
Very beautiful costumes, loads of makeup, and many ladyboys preparing the girls hair.
Sarit introduced us to the school director who immediately called two students to bring us coffee. He expressed his joy by grabbing my arm as if we were old friends.
It was time to go to Nong Khai talk to Kirk. I could choose the restaurant for lunch. Noodles with no limited peanuts.
After the conversation we decided it's best to stay two more weeks in the village while Isara doesn't start at one hundred percent (what I wanted).

"Falangues show"

I thought we were going to return home early, but no, Sarit had plans for our afternoon. He took us to a house that prepares peanuts, just around the corner of his house. Roasted, salted, with caramel or sesame seeds. I was in heaven, and the ladies, as always, welcomed us extremely well offering us samples. Lisa and I brought several varieties and for the joy of all, I volunteered to peel a fruit shaking two baskets.
The next stop was going to be the school where Sarit wife (also Ladá) teaches. They also want some "falangues" to help with English. Another chance to feel as animals in a zoo.
We went to attend a religion class while receiving all cordialities (water and cola). In the end, there was, once again, the desire that we could speak to the curious students. Microphones, light, camera, action.
Introduce ourselves, say some things that no one understands, have fun with Lisa and play a little bit the clown so the thing doesn't get so serious and stiff. And students, poor fellows, are very curious but also shy and too afraid to fail.
There was still time to show us a recycling center where the students gather the trash, clean it and do numerous things like hats, bags, dresses, ornaments, etc...

Bola!

Yesterday, after school, I dressed my shorts and went to the futsal field. I was automatically invited to play. I said yes, and the ten who were playing became twenty. I made three teams and put mine waiting outside. They have a funny way of making two teams. In a circle, they do something like rock-paper-scissors but with the hand facing up or down.
I organized them for penalties after the draw of the first game, and I couldn't fail to notice the quality of some kids. Managing football players really moves me and is something that I still have to do in this lifetime.
My team got in the field and won easily by two zero. At each movement of mine, I can feel the enthusiasm of who's ín and off the pitch. When I scored the 2-0 with a header it was a delirium.
For a moment I forgot that I'm thirty-four and even, the difference of my strength to theirs. I was a real kid. And I was really enjoying playing although they are a few years older than ten.
It yet appeared a fourth team of older students, but the game had to be canceled for a ceremony. At the end I was completely sweaty. I think if I continue to play here, I will create a cult :)

The usual games between the current and the old students

This morning, I put my shoes on before go to school, and after a few steps, I was feeling one foot too tight. Since that now I'm using the loose laces inside the shoes (it's much more practical to put on and take off in every building), I thought they were stuck for some reason. When I took the shoe off, one toad jumped out from it. I can't explain you well the feeling of fright and disgust I felt at the same time. I know I was cursing for a few seconds. And the toad bastard, was jumping smoothly, like it was nothing.

Ef giving roasted chicken to the school dogs. There are no problems with the sharpened bones and the sensitive stomachs.
