De volta à aldeia ( Back to the village)

No domingo, ainda em Nong Khai, tive oportunidade de conhecer outros voluntários/professores. Numa visita a um resort, Tom, um galês, namorado de May, começou a falar comigo em português brasileiro. Cresceu em Gales, trabalhou e conheceu amigos portugueses na Suiça, viveu no Brasil por seis meses e agora está aqui. Nada, nada mau português para apenas seis meses no brasil. Apesar do resort não estar em funcionamento, a família recebeu-nos com uma bebida e um doce, de borla! Tom dizia-me: "Estas pessoas são muito amável".
Acabámos por ir almoçar a um restaurante onde se estava a passar uma competição de pesca. Tive outra luta com o picante mas foi um almoço bem agradável. Experimentámos muita coisa.
Adeus Nong Khai. Amanhã cá regressarei para estender o visto. May ofereceu-se logo para me ajudar. Uma joia de moça.


Entretanto uma nova voluntária chegou. Lisa, da Holanda. Veio-me ajudar a tomar conta dos mais novos, ela que nem sequer teve oportunidade de ter um estagiozinho como eu.
X também já começou a dar algumas aulas aos mais velhos, e até já o ouvi a ensinar matéria que eu trouxe da Isara :)
Agora a minha dificuldade é perceber bem que aulas dar e colaborar com Lisa. Acho que nos complementamos bem. Ela gosta de cantar e dançar com os alunos.
Ontem fui dar uma volta de bicicleta com X e alguns alunos. Com muitos dos campos alagados, vêem-se paisagens deslumbrantes. E também deu para umas corridas em velocidade.
Já vou impressionando com algumas coisas que digo em tailandês mas ainda há muito para aprender. Estabeleci que ao domingo só vou falar tailandês... e português.

On Sunday, still in Nong Khai, I had the opportunity to meet other volunteers/teachers. Visiting a resort, Tom, a Welsh, May's boyfriend, started talking to me in Brazilian Portuguese. He grew up in Wales, worked and met Portuguese friends in Switzerland, lived in Brazil for six months and now is here. Not, not bad Portuguese at all, for just six months in Brazil. Although the resort is not open, the family let us in, offered us a drink and a sweet, for free! Tom told me: "Estas pessoas são muito amável."
We ended up going for lunch at a restaurant where there was a fishing competition. I had another fight with the spicy but it was a very pleasant lunch. We tried a lot of different things.
Goodbye Nong Khai. Tomorrow I will return here to extend the visa. May said, right away, that she could help me. A very nice girl.

Meanwhile, a new volunteer arrived. Lisa from Netherlands. She came to help me taking care of the youngest, she didn't even have the chance of a internship as me.
X has also started to teach the older classes, and I even heard him teaching subjects that I brought from Isara :)
Now my difficulty is to realize which classes should I teach and collaborate with Lisa. I think we complement each other well. She likes to sing and dance with students.
Yesterday I went for a bike ride with X and some students. With many of the fields, flooded, we can see stunning landscapes. There were some speed races as well.
I start to impress with some Thai words I'm able to use but there's still much to learn. From now on, on Sundays, I will only speak Thai... and Portuguese.
